John Kerry Screws up as usual

John Kerry affirmed he mangled the delivery of a line aimed at Bush, which, according to aides, was originally written to say “you end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq.”
Hoping to capitalise on “a botched joke” made by Democratic Senator John Kerry this week, the US Vice President continued to use his comments as evidence of troop-bashing, six days before the midterm elections in the United States.

The Republican National Committee quickly released a Web ad, to be e-mailed to GOP (Grand Old Party - Republican) activists and state party officials, called “Apologize.”

During a radio interview on Wednesday, Kerry said he was sorry about the “botched joke” but he went on to say that he meant no offence to troops when he told a college audience that young people might get “stuck in Iraq” if they didn’t make it through the educational system.

“The senator (John Kerry) has finally apologised and rightly so,” said Dick Cheney, the US Vice President. “All Americans realise that the men and women serving in Iraq are not there because they didn’t study hard or do their homework. The all-volunteer force represents the very best of this country. They’re smart, patriotic, exceptionally well trained and dedicated to their mission. They are heroes, and they are the pride of the United States of America,” he said speaking to a crowd in Kalispell, Montana.

Kerry said that it is US President Bush who owes troops an apology for the situation in Iraq. Kerry also affirmed he mangled the delivery of a line aimed at Bush, which, according to aides, was originally written to say “you end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq.”

White House spokesman Tony Snow said Kerry’s radio apology didn’t pass muster. “It is really easy to say, ‘I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend the troops,’” Snow said. “But instead there is always ‘I am not going to apologise for going after the (US) President.’ Fine, but there are troops out there who are clearly unhappy,” he added.

In Seattle, Washington, on Tuesday, Kerry said in a statement his comment was “about the (US) president and the president’s people, not about the troops.” “The White House knows this full well,” he added.

The midterm election for control of the US House and Senate is six days away.

Good points. What is irritating me even more are the people who are purposely missing the point in order to take shots at our troops.
